Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience

Clamber aboard the old stagecoach, just as a pioneer would have done, while the team of horses wait patiently. Then it’s off with creaks and rattles to the old Longreach-Windorah mail route. There you’ll travel along the bush track, before a short gallop to ‘outrun the storm’. This is the only place in Australia you can gallop in a stagecoach!

The experience also includes a delicious outback smoko (morning tea), a classic bush movie in the old theatrette and the Old Time Tent Show:

Climb up to Captain Starlight’s Lookout

Today you can experience the legend of Starlight and the wonder of Jumpup Country by climbing Starlight’s Lookout. Be rewarded with fantastic views and sensational sunset photo opportunities.

Suitable footwear and reasonable fitness is required.

f Longreach, Captain Starlight’s lookout is a 20 minute hike from the bottom and on a clear day provides unrivalled views over the town.

Getting there is a little tricky, the roads are unsealed and usually off limits during wet season – so it’s 4WDs only. But the trek is well worth it, and the sunburnt country puts on a show with wild horses, pigs, emus and kangaroos entering the stage below while you watch from your front row seat.
